Free Lights – Amnesty
Next weekend sees London’s first light bulb amnesty.
Apparently you can take up to two traditional light bulbs into any London B&Q store between the 11-13th January 2008 and get them replaced for free with a couple of long lasting, energy efficient bulbs.
Not a bad offer I think. Check out details at london.gov.uk/lightbulbs

Hi there, I was happy to see this advertised in today’s Guardian (Sat 5/1/07) , but I can’t find anything else about about it online (other than http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=665207 and your own site)– the flier in the paper lists london.gov.uk/lightbulbs, which leads to a dead link, and I can’t find anything on the B&Q or British Gas (sponsors) websites. I haven’t tried texting 62967 with my postcode, as the flier says. But do you know what’s going on? Has there been too big of a response, perhaps, and now they’re ducking their heads?
Your right that the link leads to an unfound page, how annoying. I’ll leave the link up in case it becomes active over the next few days, I find that publications often beat the website developers to the links.
No more information here though I’m afraid. I’ll just turn up next week and hope for the best.
Thanks! At least I know I’m not the only one confused! Well I agree to just show up at B&Q and see what happens–but I’ll send another comment if I figure anything else out!
PS just texted “bulb” + my postbode to 62967, and got this text back: “Take part in london’s first lightbulb amnesty on 11-13 january. your nearest b&q is [our B&Q]“
I think I’ll do the same as I’m not sure where my closest one is either.
Cheers
